Privacy Policy
Last updated: 23 May 2026
Who this covers
This privacy policy applies to davidbuch.com, the personal author site of David Buch — the unified hub for his books published under the Anatypical Life imprint, including The Quiet Mind, The Delphi Way, and the forthcoming An Atypical Life.
The book-specific sites linked from here (quietmind.au, thedelphiway.com) have their own privacy policies; this document only covers what happens on davidbuch.com itself.
What this site collects
Only the information necessary to operate the site and respond to contact-form messages:
- Information you provide voluntarily through the contact form — your name, email address, chosen topic, subject, and message body.
- Standard web-server access logs — IP address, request timestamps, user-agent string — retained for security, abuse-prevention, and diagnostic purposes.
This site does not use third-party analytics, advertising trackers, social-media tracking pixels, or marketing cookies. It does not embed third-party scripts that profile visitors.
What is done with it
Information you submit through the contact form is used solely to respond to your enquiry. It is not added to a newsletter list, not shared with third parties, not used for marketing automation, and not retained beyond what is needed to handle the conversation.
Server logs are used for security review and to diagnose technical problems. They are not joined to any other dataset.
Cookies
This site uses no advertising or tracking cookies. The only cookies that may be set are technical session cookies that some browsers create automatically while loading a page; these are not used for identification or profiling.
Third parties
The buttons on the books page link out to external retailer sites (Amazon, Barnes & Noble, Booktopia, and others). Once you follow one of those links, the privacy policy of that retailer applies; davidbuch.com has no visibility into anything that happens after you leave.
If a future feature on this site requires integration with a third-party service, this policy will be updated and the addition will be specifically named here.
Your rights
You can request a copy of any personal data this site holds about you, request its correction or deletion, or withdraw any consent you have given — at any time, with no reason required. To make any such request, use the contact form and select the Privacy topic.
Data retention
Messages submitted through the contact form are retained only as long as needed to respond to the conversation and any necessary follow-up. Server logs are retained for a maximum of ninety days, after which they are rotated and deleted.
Children
The work published under this site is written for adult readers and the site does not knowingly collect information from anyone under the age of sixteen. If you believe a minor has submitted information through this site, contact David through the form and the data will be deleted.
Changes to this policy
If this policy materially changes, the “Last updated” date above will be updated. Where appropriate, prior contacts will be notified directly.
Contact
For any privacy-related question or request, use the contact form. Replies come from David directly.
